I was surfing on the internet, umm… Myspace actually. Then, I found a profile of a model. I don’t know his name, because I just saw a title:
“the real Mr. America”…
“the real Mr. America”…
I thought it’s gonna be fun. I continued viewing his photo album there were some photo albums shot by different photographers. And I was interested and loving in him… Trying to find his name in the comment section… oh his name was ERIC TURNER.
I Approached him, asking for an interview and here we go…
I Approached him, asking for an interview and here we go…
ERIC TURNER AND HIMSELF
First of all… thank you so much for doing this interview with me…
What kind of man are you?
Can you describe yourself in FIVE words?
I'd like to think I'm a man of my word. Nothing is more important to me than being true to myself, and having integrity.
And I can't get me down to 5 words, just 7:
"Fat girl trapped in a muscle body."
Nobody is perfect, right… What are your best and worst qualities?
I'd like to think that one of my best qualities is my optimism. I try to always find the silver lining to the cloud. If you can't control a situation, you can at least control your reaction to it. I think one of my worst qualities is that I'm incredibly shy until you get to know me, then I'm 'in your face' outgoing. I think a lot of people get the wrong impression that I have no interest in getting to know them, just because I'm too shy to try, and it turns a lot of people off to me.
If the world can know you. Which angle you would like to be known?
I'd like people to know that I'm just a simple guy. I like to keep my life relatively simple, and just hang out with my friends. We're all here trying to do the same thing, just live and make a living.

CAREER
SUPERPOWER vs UNDERPOWER
You did great enough in modeling.
How did you first get started? And what was the driving force?
The first thing I ever did in modeling was when I was 21. I was asked by someone to go to a modeling convention in San Francisco where different agents would be signing people. I went, and there were several agents that were interested in me, but they were all in Los Angeles and New York, and at the time I was living in Salt Lake City. About a year later I was living in Portland, Oregon and had a friend that scheduled me a time to meet with an agent there. When I sat down with the agent, she looked at me, looked at my pictures, then told me, "There's nothing I can do for you. Good luck." And she sent me on my way. I was devastated. So I gave up on modeling. Several years later I had moved to Phoenix, Arizona and a photographer, Carlos Arias, approached me on MySpace about doing a shoot with him. It took him a year to convince me to shoot, but ever since I did, so many doors have opened for me in the modeling world. I would say that there wasn't really a driving force behind me becoming a model- It's just something that happened.
Body appearance, is one of the requirements to become a model.
How did you get your hot body, and what you do to stay in shape?
I think a big part of getting into shape and staying there is knowing your body and how it reacts to different exercises and foods, and having the will-power and self-control to do what you need to in order to achieve your goals. I first started working out when I was 17, but didn't get serious about it until I was 20. I always laugh when people approach me and ask how long it's taken to get my body to the point where it is. People have this misconception that you can spend 6 months in the gym and be in peak physical condition. That is the case for a very small amount of people. The rest of us have to bust our asses. Once you get into shape though, it's easier to stay in shape. I try to switch my exercise and diet every couple of months or so. That way my body doesn't get too used to what I'm doing, and I can still see growth and reaction to the exercises that I'll do.
Enjoy? Is modeling something you always wanted to do?
I think this is a trick question. Who wouldn't want to be the guy in the ads that people love to look at? So, yes it's something that I always wanted to do. But not something that I have ever expected to make a living doing.
And what can make you DARE to leave and stop doing it all !!
Don’t you dare… Eric. Hix hix
Right now, modeling is just something fun that I do in my spare time. Going to the gym is part of my lifestyle, so I guess as long as I'm getting work, and the work is fun, I'll continue modeling.
What else are you workin’ on right now?
Or what makes you busy all day, while you blank in modeling?
I am a club promoter for a club in downtown Salt Lake City. It's quaint, but it's fun because it lets me meet a lot of new people.
Can you remember how many photoshoot you have joined so far?
And which photoshoot you have best memories of? Why?
Offhand, I'm not sure how many shoots I've done. My favorite was with Steve Henry. No matter how many shoots you've done, there's always an uneasiness the first time working with a photographer. Steve did a great job making me feel at ease, and was already snapping shots of me before I even knew we were already shooting.
Unlucky ... Yea no one wanted it. But it wanted everyone ^^
What was the SHIT HAPPENED in your career?
I would say when the agent told me that there was nothing she could do for me because I just didn't have the look. I was devastated. I decided at that point that I would never again try to model. But the irony of that statement is that I have found more modeling work for myself than any agency that I've been signed with has- or rather, the work has found me. So even though I was down, it made me realize that everyone is looking for a specific look. If you look long enough, you'll find someone that's looking for YOUR look.

GIMME ANSWERS PERSONALLY
Eric, we are pretty convinced of the fact everybody would like to know you a bit more personal, so please allow us:
Tell me about your hobbies and favs?
Any Pets ?
I have two Jack Russell dogs. I have a 3 year old male, Diesel. And a 7 week old female, Bailey.
Are ya Foodie?
When I'm not getting ready for a shoot, my guilty pleasures are Mexican food and ice cream & cookie dough.
Music…
I like all types of music. Mainly I like anything that has a beat to it, because I love to dance.
Idol ?
The person I look up to the most is my grandpa. When he was alive, I always looked up to him.
Sports to play ?
I'm a pretty active guy. I love doing anything outdoors, from hiking and fly fishing to white-water rafting and scuba diving. I played football but injured my knees. I still enjoy watching football, but my favorite sport to watch is hockey.
What is your style and your favorite men’s wear brand?
My style varies depending on the occasion. I have about 16 feet of closet space, and it's packed with all different brands and types of clothing. If there was one brand and style of clothing that I have most of, it's Abercrombie & Fitch- because I worked for them for 4 years as a district manager. Even so, my style is generally very laid back. I own a tuxedo, but I never wear it. I love themed parties though, anything where I can play dress-up.
Are you currently single? Or what ?
I am dating someone :-)
What do you think about us “queer”? Are you one of us or ever had any experiences?

What do you think about us “queer”? Are you one of us or ever had any experiences?
Well, you can't have a pre-occupation with the development of the male body without having at least some sort of interest in it ;-)
I saw you on the internet and many sites. And some of’em were gay / queer oriented sites. Just like mine…..
What is your opinion about this point ! And what do you expect from them ?
Like I said before, everyone has a type. I'm glad to have work, wherever it is. And once that interest in me runs out, I'll stop modeling. So as long as people show interest, I'll keep doing things.

LAST QUESTIONS
If you had 3 wishes? What would you wish for?
1. To win the lottery.
2. Ice creams that won't go to my ass.
3. For there to be a pill that you could take that would legitimately replace cardiovascular exercise. (Not one that just claims to, like all of them out there.)
Have you ever heard this word before: hiQueerlity…
Have your own definition? Thanks…
I haven't ever heard it before. I wouldn't have the slightest idea of a definition unless I heard it in a sentence.
That’s all Eric… thank you again for your time. Wish you the best...
